7 Ways an Effective Website Can Improve Your Business

Smiling group of diverse employees viewing their new website.

Your website literally sits on the world wide web (www), a roadway that can take you places that you never had access before. Often, when we think of a business improvement, we think about processes, sales, marketing, customer service – all of which are important. But your website is a treasure trove of opportunities for growing your company.

Your website is a powerful tool or a set of numerous tools. Let’s look at the top 7.

Imagery

The imagery you choose for your site says a lot about who you are and what you do. I see too many sites that are filled with overused stock images that do not convey a cohesive message. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, let your website images speak volumes about your company.

Geography

If you can head out on the world wide web to visit the most remote corners of the globe, then the converse is true as well. In other words, anyone from anywhere can find you on the web, see what you do, and engage with your company.

Trust

Your site can build trust with potential clients who are browsing your offerings. If you scatter quotes, testimonials, and case studies throughout your site, prospects who read those accolades and success stories will begin to understand that they can trust your company with their business.

Storytelling

Your site is the ideal place to broadcast your story. Telling your unique story is a compelling way is yet another tool for winning the hearts and minds of your prospects. Just this morning, I received a LinkedIn invitation from Richard Branson (Virgin Group founder) to attend a virtual MeetUp on “How to tell your brand story and stand out from the crowd,” including a panel discussion and breakout sessions. Wow!

Connectivity

Obviously, you want to connect with as many potential clients as possible. How better to do this than via your website where you can include links on every page to all your social media platforms, and “contact us” links, too. A site on the world wide web can reach more people than an email could ever do.

Blog

Your blog, if it is updated with new material on a regular basis, is the best way to attract the web crawlers that are continually looking for new content. Your blog is also one of your strongest SEO tools because blogs can be filled with the keywords that people would use when looking for the kinds of products and/or services that you provide.

Thought Leadership

Do you offer state-of-the-art products and/or innovative services? That makes you a thought leader, and your website firmly establishes you in a leadership position, especially if your site includes content that demonstrates how your company is forward-thinking and up to speed on all the current and future tools of your trade, whatever that trade might be.

www

Every web address begins with www. But only those companies that understand and harness the power of the world wide web will survive and thrive. Marketing Monarchs can help.
